Terms & Conditions

By registering for and participating in the Dominican Writers Conference (“Conference”), you agree to the following Terms & Conditions set forth by the Dominican Writers Association (“DWA,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).

Registration & Payment

All registrations must be completed through the official platform. Full payment is required to secure your spot. Registration is confirmed only upon receipt of payment.

All Sales Are Final

All ticket purchases, add-ons, and manuscript review bookings are final and non-refundable. No exceptions will be made for cancellations, missed sessions, or scheduling conflicts.

Transfers

Conference tickets may be transferred to another participant with advance notice and approval from DWA. Manuscript review sessions may also be transferred with approval but cannot be rescheduled or reassigned to a different reviewer.

Manuscript Review Sessions

Manuscript reviews are limited, scheduled sessions with literary agents and editors. Participants may book multiple sessions but only one per reviewer.

Participants must submit materials by the stated deadline and follow all guidelines. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the session without refund.

These sessions are for professional feedback only and do not guarantee representation, publication, or continued communication.

Scheduling & Attendance

All sessions will begin and end on time. Participants are responsible for arriving on time. Late arrivals may result in shortened sessions. Missed sessions are considered forfeited and are not eligible for a refund.

Program Changes

DWA reserves the right to make changes to the conference schedule, speakers, or programming as necessary. Such changes do not constitute grounds for a refund.

Code of Conduct

Participants are expected to engage respectfully and professionally. Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. DWA reserves the right to remove any participant from the conference without refund if these standards are violated.

Intellectual Property

All submitted materials remain the intellectual property of the participant. DWA and its reviewers will treat submissions as confidential and use them solely for the purpose of the scheduled session.

Media Release

By attending the conference, you grant DWA permission to capture and use photographs, video, or audio recordings for promotional and archival purposes, unless otherwise requested in writing.

Liability

DWA is not responsible for any personal injury, loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings during the conference. Participation is at your own risk.

Third-Party Services

The Conference may involve third-party vendors or platforms (e.g., ticketing, payment processing). DWA is not responsible for the policies or practices of these third parties.

Agreement

By completing your registration, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
