The Emerging Writers Track is designed for writers who are just beginning their journey — finding their voice, building their practice, and discovering the community that will carry them forward.

This generative writing workshop explores the intersections of indigeneity, Blackness, and queerness through a decolonial lens — inviting participants to challenge and expand their understanding of self, identity, and belonging. Drawing on the frameworks of Gloria Anzaldúa, Annamarie Jagose, Andrea Smith, and Qwo-Li Driskill, and inspired by the lives and work of Audre Lorde, Yoseli Castillo Fuentes, and Dionne Brand, participants will move through reflection and into writing.
