Manuscript Review FAQs
-
How do I book a manuscript review?
All manuscript reviews must be booked in advance through the official registration system. Payment is required to secure your spot. Availability is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. -
Can I book more than one session?
Yes. Participants may book multiple sessions with different reviewers, but only one session per reviewer. -
How do I choose my reviewer?
You will select your preferred editor or literary agent at the time of booking. We strongly encourage reviewing each professional’s background, genres, and interests before confirming. Sessions cannot be changed once booked. -
What does the session include?
Each session is a 15-minute, one-on-one manuscript review with a literary agent or editor, offering professional feedback and guidance on your work. -
Do manuscript reviews guarantee publication or representation?
No. These sessions are for professional feedback only. They do not guarantee representation, publication, or continued communication. Any follow-up is at the reviewer’s discretion. -
What do I need to submit?
Participants must submit their materials by the stated deadline and follow all guidelines, including page count, genre, and file format. Late or missing submissions may result in forfeiture of the session without a refund. Upon booking, you will receive an email with further instructions; make sure to check your SPAM folder. -
What is the cancellation or refund policy?
All bookings are final and non-refundable. Sessions may only be transferred to another participant with advance notice and approval from conference organizers. -
What happens if I’m late or miss my session?
All sessions begin and end on time. Late arrivals will not receive additional time. Missed sessions are considered forfeited and are not eligible for a refund. You may reach out to the reviewer afterwards to discuss availability. -
Are my materials kept confidential?
Yes. All submitted materials will be treated as confidential and remain the intellectual property of the participant. -
What is expected of participants?
Participants are expected to engage respectfully and professionally. The Dominican Writers Association reserves the right to cancel any session without refund in cases of inappropriate conduct.
